Your Niche Is Your Business

I see it every day on the internet, people joining mlm or affiliate
programs, getting really excited, posting a few free ads and building
their very own web sites.
Great, it's good to see excitement in home business entrepreneurs.
Unfortunately that enthusiasm often fades as quickly as it was
acquired. And why is that?
Believe it or not, they are probably directing their marketing efforts
towards the wrong audience.
Now before you call me crazy, let me explain what I mean.
It seems that most of those new to internet marketing would rather
follow the crowd than strike out on their own. It is all too easy to
find ad copy and web site templates with a 'Money Making' theme. There
are hundreds of thousands of them.
Unfortunately, there are hundreds of millions of web sites dedicated to
'Home Business', 'Making Money At Home', 'Work At Home', etc. And that
is the biggest hurdle those enthusiastic newbie marketers are faced
with.
What I'm talking about here is competition, and the 'Home Business'
market is one of the most highly competitive fields to venture into.
So what should netpreneurs do to get a good start in internet
marketing. Read on...
Find something that is 'Related' to what you do best!
That's right, you need to find your 'Niche', (no, it is not your
Brother's daughter) something that you know something about and can
pass on to others.
Let me give you a little example.
Suppose you were a cleaning person at a hotel. Being in that field you
may know great ways to get stains out of carpets, or easier ways to
clean toilets, or how to keep mildew from forming on walls and ceilings
in bathrooms.
With this knowledge, you can write a bunch of short articles on these
topics and make a very useful web site. Keep adding articles, either
your own or those you find on the internet, get some links to and from
other related web sites and soon you'll have a very valuable web site
based on the home cleaning niche.
A quick search on Google should be enough to convince you that there is
a lot less competition in the 'Home Cleaning' market than in the 'Home
Business' market.
OK great you say, but how can I make money by giving away my cleaning
knowledge? Good question...
Next you search for affiliate programs that market cleaning products.
Join one of them, try their products, and, if they are products that
you would use, go ahead and start advertising them on your new web
site.
There are lots of very good mlm and affiliate programs available that
have several great products in many different categories. Most of them
will not only allow you to market their products but also to recruit
others into your downline and earn residual income. Just ensure it is a
reputable company which has been around for a long time and has
positive feedback from its affiliates.
And there you have it, your own niche market. Keep adding valuable
content to your site and before long you just may be number one in the
search rankings and 'Corner The Market'.
There is no limit to the number of niche markets. Where there is
knowledge of something, there is someone else searching for that
knowledge. It could be you who provides it. There is nothing saying you
cannot diversify into several niches. Build separate web sites, with
separate domain names, for each niche.
Don't be afraid to jump in with both feet. You're planning to build a
web site anyway, why not build it in a category that is not so
competitive. Besides, running your home business in a field that you
love will make it much less of a task and a lot more enjoyable.
